STUDIES

My work is inspired by James Ensor, a Belgian surrealist artist. Ensor used masks to represent 

people in his paintings.These are studies of masks and sculptures from indigenous people of 

Africa, the Americas and South East Asia.

I aim to create an art style with a consistent and unique visual language. These studies 

will serve as a reference bank for paintings I will make later on.
